Harry Chesters

Posted on Facebook Feb 2025 by Natalie White

I was led to this group because I purchased this old suitcase the other day from a charity shop. Something about it intrigued me. It has a label on it from Union-Castle line with the name H Chesters on one side and on the other (scribbled out) J McNeil and underneath that Edinburgh Castle.

I managed to find both of these names on the 1964 and 1965 crew lists. So I suppose my next question is, does anyone here know them?

Not sure where I'm going with this other than I find it fascinating to think about the people that owned this before me and the stories it could tell if it could talk, looking at pictures the Edinburgh Castle looked like a lot of fun...
