With much personal sadness I pass on the news that Peter who had been suffering with cancer for some time died on Friday aged 86. Peter was on the Pursers' staff in the late 50's and early 60's, sailing as 2nd Purser on the maiden voyage of Pendennis Castle and then joining Windsor Castle.

I believe that Peter left the sea staff in 1961 to take up the position of Secretary of Leeds United Football Club - a post that his father had held before him for many years.
