I am so pleased to have found a website which may help me with tracing details of my grandfather, Magnus Jamieson who worked for the Union-Castle Shipping Line as a boatswain as far as I know.
He also served in the 14-18 war.
At the time of his death he was on SS Norman as a watchman. The ship was anchored at Bradwell, Essex, and according to a report in the local newspaper he drowned, and his body was found on 9th April 1926 on the shore of the Blackwater Estuary in Bradwell.
His DOB I believe, was 24.08.1878 and he was born in 27 Commercial Street Lerwick, Shetland Isles.
At the time of his death his home address was
28, West India Dock Road, London E14
I would like to find out where he was buried or any other information you may have.
