Something of a mystery surrounds Jesse White.   According to reports he was picked up out of the sea alive but died either shortly before or after being landed at Swansea from the U.S.S. "Parker".

The fact that Jesse is remembered on the Tower Hill memorial suggests that he died before the "Parker" docked and was buried at sea as the memorial is for those with no known grave.
